Kindergarten has come to an end! This year had flown by at top speed. Our days were fun filled and joyful. The children learned to read and to work well independently as well as in a group. They have grown spiritually and emotionally and they are ready for the big world of 1st grade. I read them Eric Carle's "A House for Hermit Crab" and assured them that, like the hermit crab, they are ready for a bigger and better shell. We will miss them and always be here for a visit and a chat. Last week we completed the Family Life Series. We also finished our math series. We learned to use a word bank when writing a story. We attended a K-3 Mass. We worked on our Class Quilt, which will be hanging at Graduation. Our Centers were about Father's Day. We shopped at the Father's Day Boutique. We had a great time at The Big Apple Circus. A very big "Thank You" to our chaperones: Ms. Cruz, Mrs. Pisanello, Mrs. Leggio, Mrs. Lizares, Mrs. Neumann, Mr. Noebel, Mrs. Savage & Mr. Stratmann. We had great seats and the children enjoyed the "clown noses" courtesy of the chaperones. Say, did you hear that Grandma Clown had her eye on Mr. Stratmann and even had a dance with him in the Center Ring? They really looked like Fred & Ginger out there! We practiced on the stage for our Graduation ceremony. We worked on our special shirt project!
This Week:
Religion: We will review our prayers and the Gospel stories that we learned.
Math: We will add and subtract.
Reading Readiness: We will try some 1st grade work: ABC order & board copy with a word bank.
Centers: Graduation surprises!
General Info:
1. Tuesday 6/10: We are giving the class a Pizza lunch.
2. Is your child practicing his/her graduation part?
3. Wednesday 6/11: GRADUATION DAY. Please have your child arrive dressed for graduation. Children
should line up in the usual place at 10:00 AM. You will need to transport your child.
4.Graduation Ceremony is at 1:00 PM in the Gym. ALL ARE INVITED. Doors open at 12:45. Please note:
ONLY entrance is through the gym doors on Merrick Road.
5. Please remember to take your child's mobile & action figure after the ceremony.
6. Have a wonderful summer vacation!
