2008 Book Fair
The week of April 7th, the Scholastic Books Truck rolled up St. Christopher's School and not only dropped of loads and loads of great books, but they brought Clifford - The Big Red Dog too!! After our volunteers worked so diligently to get everything set-up on Wednesday morning, we kicked off the Book Fair with a Teacher Preview that afternoon. All Teachers attending the Preview enjoyed refreshments and were able to view the books to make Wish Lists for their classroom libraries.
On Thursday and Friday all of our students had the opportunity to go to the Book Fair and you can see from the photos how much they liked it! Although it was a noon dismissal on both days, the Book Fair stayed open a few extra hours to accomodate families with Parent Teacher Conferences. In addition, the Book Fair was open on Sunday, so our Parishioners were able to take advantages of the great books available.
Clifford was a big hit with all the children, yes even those in the upper grades. Everyone was excited to have their picture taken with Clifford. Mrs. O'Heir's Kindergarten Classroom had a special visit from the Big Red Dog. We especially thank him for bring such fun to our Book Fair!!
All of our volunteers were outstanding from the set-up crew, to those breaking down, to those who worked the fair. We especially appreciate our 7th grade volunteers who helped us out on Sunday.
